Brian E. Currie - Principal/ Mediator
"Committed to helping people resolve conflict efficiently"
-
40 years of Civil Trial experience is the foundation for Brian’s neutral conflict resolution expertise. Decades of late nights and weekends, travel to hard-fought depositions, big wins, and a few losses all add insight and perspective many litigants find helpful in reaching their settlement goals.
-
He understands that, as just one of the tools at our disposal for dealing with conflict, successful mediation demands a commitment of time, emotional energy, intellectual effort, and patience.
-
Extensive experience representing both individuals and insurance companies, plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of complex litigation makes him uniquely qualified to assist in navigating through the process towards a favorable settlement.
-
He takes a thoughtful, active role in the mediation process and brings his experience, creativity, professionalism, and tenacity to bear, helping even the most obstinate litigants "get to yes."

Brian's Goal in Mediation:
Identify issues, reduce obstacles to communication and, through creative neutral input, facilitate resolution. His primary mediation focus areas include medical negligence, personal injury and wrongful death.
Brian is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to mediate cases in all Florida state courts. He is the past president of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges whose membership is limited to individuals who not only have extensive trial experience, but also have exhibited the highest levels of civility, integrity, and professionalism. Brian holds an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, a distinction recognizing the highest standards of ethics, legal ability, and professional excellence, and has been recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers. He serves on the Board of Directors of Funding Florida Legal Aid (formerly the Florida Bar Foundation), a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice and to fund civil legal aid in Florida.

"Experience on both sides"
When it comes to mediations, perspective matters. With firsthand experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants, I understand the strategies, challenges and motivations on each side of the table. This balanced approach allows me to anticipate arguments, find common ground and craft fair, practical resolutions.

"The right experience for high-stakes medical malpractice cases"
With extensive experience in hospital and physician defense, I offer a strategic and balanced approach to medical malpractice mediation. I understand the complexity of these cases -from standard of care disputes to nuanced damages evaluations -and the importance of early resolution where possible. My experience on both sides of the courtroom allows me to anticipate arguments, assess risk effectively, and guide negotiations toward practical, results-driven solutions.
