Committed to helping people resolve conflict efficiently
Brian E. Currie - Attorney, Mediator
-
35+ years of working as a civil trial lawyer informs his approach to serving as a neutral conflict resolution specialist.
-
He understands that, as just one of the tools at our disposal for dealing with conflict, successful mediation demands a commitment of time, emotional energy, intellectual effort and patience.
-
Extensive experience in representing both individuals and insurance companies, plaintiffs and defendants, in a wide range of complex litigation makes him uniquely qualified to assist in navigating through the process towards a favorable settlement.
-
He takes a thoughtful, active role in the mediation process and brings his experience, creativity, professionalism and tenacity to bear, helping even the most obstinate litigants "get to yes."
Brian's goal in mediation is to assist in identifying issues, reduce obstacles to communication and, through creative neutral input, faciiltate resolution. His primary mediation focus areas include medical negligence, personal injury and wrongful death.
Brian is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to mediate cases in all Florida state courts. He is the past president of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges whose membership is limited to individuals who not only have extensive trial experience, but also have exhibited the highest levels of civility, integrity and professionalism. Brian holds an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, a distinction recognizing the highest standards of ethics, legal ability and professional excellence, and has been recognized a Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Florida Bar Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice and to fund civil legal aid in Florida.
