Brian's 35+ years of working as a civil trial lawyer informs his approach to serving as a conflict resolution specialist and in the mediation process. He understands that mediation is just one of the tools at our disposal for dealing with conflict. It demands a commitment of time, emotional energy, intellectual effort and financial resources. Brian's extensive experience in representing both individuals and businesses/insurance companies in a wide range of complex litigation, makes him uniquely qualified to assist both plaintiffs and defendants in navigating their way towards fair and favorable dispute resolutions. Brian takes an active role in the mediation process and brings his experience, creativity, professionalism and tenacity to helping even the most difficult of cases resolve. His goal is not to impose resolution but to attain one that the disputants accept as their own. His primary mediation focus areas include personal injury, medical negligence, premises liability, negligent security, and bad faith litigation and he is available to mediate by phone, Zoom or in-person with Covid-19 precautions in place.
Brian is certified by the Florida Supreme Court to mediate cases in all Florida state courts. He is the immediate past president of the Jacksonville Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges whose membership is limited to individuals who not only have extensive trial experience, but also have exhibited the highest levels of civility, integrity and professionalism. Brian holds an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, a distinction recognizing the highest standards of ethics, legal ability and professional excellence, and has been recognized a Florida Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers. He is also is an active member of the Board of the Florida Bar Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides funding for legal aid and for improvements in the administration of justice.
